LAUSD vs Jesus

All one Chatsworth fifth-grader wanted to do was bust a move to his favorite song at his school's annual talent show. 

Unlike classmates who selected songs by Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, the young man wanted to perform an interpretive dance to "We Shine," a chart-topping Christian pop song. Click here to see a "We Shine" interpretive dance video.

 
But after officials at Superior Street Elementary told the youngster he'd have to "pick a song that does not say `Jesus' so many times," his parents decided to pursue legal action. 


The National Alliance Defense Fund, a coalition of Christian attorneys who advocate for religious freedom, filed suit late last week against Los Angeles Unified on behalf of the unidentified boy.
